The Petition Process

Scholars seeking support for a requirement and/or policy not outlined in the award agreement will need to submit a petition to the Board. To begin this process, the scholar must first discuss the requirement and/or policy that they are seeking support for with the Executive Director of the Heyl Scholarship Fund. This discussion will outline what information must be included in the petition and provide a timeline for submission. The Board will consider the scholar’s petition statement and any supplementary materials that the scholar submits. The scholar will be notified in writing via email of the Board’s decision by the Executive Director, usually within a few days of the Board’s meeting.
